There was so much to say about the 2015 BET Awards last night, so much of it that I would been up way past midnight just talking about it. First thing is first! Mrs Jackson!! I have been waiting FOREVER to see what Janet Jackson has been up to. Besides marring into an extremely wealthy family and her brothers passing, I am sure that a little relaxing time was way over due. She looked amazing as if the years have not passed by at all. The dedications to Icon was small compared to what Janet represents. Other then timeless albums, she is fashion Icon herself, not to mention a amazing dancer (family trait). Ciara looked perfect all the way around wearing a gorgeous silver beaded dress by Wes Gordon. The dress had a high slit on the front, showing off her amazing toned legs. Her tribute to Janet was right on and there is no surprise their considering how much of a talented dancer Ciara is.
The winners of the big night included Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Niki Minaj and Sam Smith, with Janet Jackson being honored with the Ultimate Icon Award. Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the 2015 BET Awards. I really like Tracee she’s not just funny, but the woman has a great sense of style. Taraji P. Henson and Terrance Howard of “Empire” won the best Actress and Actor awards. Puffy brought out the damn near the whole Bad Boy crew, even Ma$e was there and I almost lost my mind! That ended quickly though once Puffy apparently fell through the hole on the stage where Kim had came out of. Jessie Smollett was at the awards to perform the hit song from the Empire soundtrack “You’re So Beautiful.” Jessie took a moment which was perfect timing with Pride weekend and new changes with the laws, in the middle of his performance he spoke about equality and changed a part of the song to “when a man loves a man” just like out of the scene from the show. The performances were great, but it’s definitely time to get down to the Red carpet.
Nicki Minaj’s body looked insane inside of her body bondage dress. Gabriel Union’s liquid black Halston Heritage dress was smoking hot on the red carpet yesterday. I am in love with the navy blue tuxedo jumpsuit by Dmitry Sholokhov that Laverne Cox was wearing on the Carpet and I want it! What can I say about Brandy’s dress other then I loved it, although I would of done without the pink shoes with that dress. Michelle Williams had everyone jumping to ask about her beautiful emerald green Herve Leger gown.
