Givenchy gave away tickets to the public for the outdoor show for its New York Fashion Week 2016 spring/summer collection earlier this month. If you were one of the lucky ones to get the invite to the show, this event was the real deal with Givenchy bringing the feel of Paris to New York. The show was filled with gorgeous silks, satin and lace blouses, mixed in with beautiful dresses fit for the woman who is comfortable with herself. The men’s line is just as gorgeous, with beautiful male models walking the runway in well fitted suits giving nothing but attitude.
The entire collection is absolutley fabulous and every piece was made to perfection.
There is a beautiful black gown that was put on on one of the models and it was a complete draw dropper, not to mention the model who wore it did the dress total justice. As far as the menswear goes “All black everything” in the words of Jay-Z, Givenchy shows that all black suits are NOT boring! Sheer shirts with leather trims for men, paired with a long black jacket and black pants.
I admit that I had lost my mind when I saw the next part of the collection of the women’s wear! All white and gold suits that were very much giving me Grace Jones and Gaga, totally fit for a true divas! That entire collection is insane and as if Givenchy didn’t kill us enough with these amazing pieces, the next set of the collection was even better. This part of the collection can be worn out to work, for social events, or any where that calls for you to “dress to impress”, this will be the collection for all fashion lovers (the one’s that can afford it should I say).
Givenchy’s spring/summer 2016 collection, I feel is the best so far for this season’s fashion week. Giving away tickets to the public, plus having the event out doors just set a beautiful scene for this amazing collection. The runway was very long giving every beautiful garment its moment to shine. There was not one piece in this beautiful 2016 s/s collection that was awful, you can see how everything was made with love and passion. Even the final walk was elegantly done, with a wonderful live singer performing in the back ground giving this beautiful collection and extra touch of class.
A standing ovation was indeed needed for the amazing designers and he took his walk out. The guest was all smiles as they left the show, including Vougue’s Anna Wintour as she looked fabulous dashing out for the next event of the evening.
Givenchy’s 2016 s/s collection is one that would make every fashion lover’s heart melt! So cheers to a great show and here’s to hoping that this wonderful designer will do it again for the next season to come.
