A few good Fashion Reads

I have just purchased the book “Art and Fashion: Collaboration and connections Between Icons,” by E.P Cutler and Julien Tomasello.

The book is in full dedication to the  past decade filled with amazing collaborations between artists and fashion designers. The book shows 25 collaborations with beautiful photo’s of Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali’s Lobster dress. The photography in this book is amazing and it’s worth the eightyfive dollars that it was paid for.

So, with the excitement after buying this book I decided to share a short list of recently released fashion books that are difintiatly worth checking out, or it can make a really cool holiday gift for someone.

Philip Treacy: Hat Designer, by Philip Treacy and Marion Hume. The book is priced at $115 and features Philip’s iconic “ship hat” worn by Grace Jones and Isabella Blow, and the beautiful bird made out of twigs designed for the late Alexander McQueen.

Irving Penn: Beyond Beauty, by Merry Foresta. The book is priced at $45 and it’s just in time for the Showing of Irving Penn’s photography through out the years at the Smithsonian American Art Mesuem, opening for viewing in early March. I am a fan of Irving’s work and by the end of the week this book will be on my coffee table.
The Belgian: An unexpected Fashion Story, edited by Didier Vervaeren and retailed at $60.
